São Miguel
Whale Watching: With 20 years of experience, Futurismo is, in the Azores, the Pioneer in the observation of cetaceans. We organize daily trips, year round, that last approximately 3 hours each. Before the trip, there is always a brief presentation made by one of our guides that recounts the history of whale-hunting and its evolution to observation of cetaceans to our clients. Also provided is information concerning the biodiversity of the islands, rules of conduct with the animals, and safety on board the boat.
Walking Tour: Futurismo organizes a variety of tours, with varying levels of difficulty and duration, in order to meet your expectations. Through the pedestrian trails, you can get to know the more rural interior of the island, the coast, the lakes, the fumaroles, the mountains, the old boilers and volcanic craters, the old trails and all of the natural beauty of the island, always accompanied by the faunas and flowers characteristic of each locale.

Sunset Trip: At the end of the evening, when the sun starts to descend into the horizon, Futurismo suggests a boat trip to admire the beauty of the ocean and the coast at sunset. During this trip of approximately 1.5 hours, we follow the southern coast to the western part of the island, until we arrive at Mosteiros and its islets. There, we can appreciate the sunset as we enjoy cheeses and wines from the Azores.
Swim with Dolphins: Swimming with dolphins is a wonderful way to visit these animals in their natural habitat. Upon entering the water appropriately equipped with a wetsuit and a diving mask, you will be amazed by the dolphins swimming around you, with the opportunity to come very close to them, maybe even allowing you to hear them. It is, without a doubt, an experience you will not forget! Learn more about the different species, lose yourself in the blue ocean, and re-find yourself with this rejuvenating experience.
Jeep Safari: Our off-roading programs offer visits to the principal tourist attractions of the islands through alternative paths. In either a half-day or full-day circuit, you can pass through Sete Cidades, Lagoa do Fogo, Furnas, and Nordeste – Island of São Miguel or circle the island of Pico.

Geo Tour: The origin of the archipelago of the Azores is volcanic and, due to the uncommon characteristics of its landscape, it is considered unique by many! In many areas, it is still possible to see the marks of more recent eruptions.
The volcanic origin of the islands created mountains and valleys covered with dense and varied vegetation, lakes that occupy old volcanic boilers, thermal wells, fumaroles, lava tunnels, waterfalls, and mountains that contrast the cultivated pastures and fields. Futurismo organizes trips to various points of geological interest, guided by a geologist.

**Jeep Safari:
Full Day Circuit- Sete Cidades /Lagoa do Fogo/ Furnas –
This circuit will include the following stops: King´s view viewpoint; Cumeeira Pequena; Lomba do Vasco viewpoint (in the direction of Várzea); parish of Sete Cidades (São Nicolau Church); peninsula; tunnel; Lagoa de Santiago; Serrado das Freiras; Paul and Relva viewpoints (new path). Lunch at a local restaurant in Ponta Delgada.
We will continue to the northern coast, with a stops at Caldeira Velha, Lagoa do Fogo, Gorreana Tea Factory, Furnas boilers and lake. Return through Vila Franca do Campo.
Half Day Circuit – Sete Cidades–

**Walking Tours:
Full Day – Sete Cidades, Lagoa do Fogo, and Furnas
Sete Cidades – Cumeeiras Grande. Beginning with the Lagoa do Canário, this route through the highest point of the volcano of Sete Cidades allows one to look upon the twists and turns of Azorean landscapes. Route length: 12 km.
Beach/Lagoa do Fogo – This route runs along the southern side of the Vulcano of Água de Pau, next to the bridge of Ribeira da Praia (in the direction of Ponta Delgada/Vila Franca do Campo) in the direction of Lagoa do Fogo, with passage through a small dam and an old New Zealand flax pulping factory. Routh Length: 12.6 km
Furnas –This pedestrian path begins and ends by one of the entrances to the splendorous Terra Nostra Park, in which part of the trajectory is made along the lake shore, making a full circle around the Lagoa das Furnas, passing through the Lagoa Seca and Pico do Gaspar. Route Length: 10.7 km
Half Day – Sete Cidades; Lagoa de Fogo; Salto do Cabrito; Furnas; Ponta da Madrugada or Sanguinho
Sete Cidades – A circular route which provides the possibility to discover a series of unique lakes, such as Lagoa Rasa, Lagoas Empadadas, Lagoa das Éguas, Lagoa do Carvão and Lagoa do Pau Pique, where you will enjoy spectacular panoramas. Route Length: 7 km.
Lagoa do Fogo – You will have the opportunity to descend to the mouth of Lagoa do Fogo, where you will have the opportunity to view all of the existing fauna and flowers, in a mystical and peaceful entrancement with a silence transmitted by the force of nature. Route Length: 2 km.
Salto do Cabrito – This route begins in the Caldeiras of Ribeira Grande, climbing in the direction of the mountain, toward the Lombadas. Next, there is a passage through a dam and through two hydroelectric centers: that of Fajã do Redondo and of Salto do Cabrito. The former is still in operation, however, the latter has been out of service for approximately 40 years. Descending in direction of the stream, one can appreciate the impressive waterfall of Salto do Cabrito. Route Length: 5.4 km.
Furnas – This circuit takes place around the Lagoa das Furnas, where one can see all of the surrounding beautiful flowers and relax in the various green spaces. Route Length: 7 km.
Ponta Da Madrugada – This route begins in Pedreira, departing from the town in Nordeste in the direction of Povoação, passing through the Ponta do Arnel viewpoint, Lombo Gordo beach, ending at the Ponta da Madrugada viewpoint. Route Length: 4.2 km.
Sanguinho – This route begins in the parish of Faial da Terra, departing from Povoação through the road that connects the municipality with the Nordeste, passing through Lomba do Alcaide, Salto do Prego, Ribeira da Fajã do Estaleiro, arriving at the first houses of Sanguinho (village currently in ruins). Route Length: 4.9 km.
Combo Walking Tour/Canoeing/Mountain Biking: Walking tour through Serra Devassa, followed by a bicycle descent to the town of Sete Cidades and a canoe ride in the Lagoa Azul.
Combo Walking Tour/Jeep/Canoeing: Walking tour through Serra Devassa, followed by a jeep ride through the Cumeeiras Grandes to the Lagoa Azul, where you can enjoy a canoe ride.
